The Council website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics sets a cookie in order to evaluate your use of the website and compile reports for us on activity on the website. It is using these reports that we base our decisions on where information should be placed to make it easier for you to find.
Google have developed a browser Add-on which excludes Google Analytics recording your activities on any websites using Google Analytics. It's totally free and can be installed on most browsers. Please use the following link, and be aware that at the time of writing, this add-on is still in BETA (last stage of testing before commercial release).

This website is what we use to advertise our current vacancies and is provided by Retox Digital.
The Bassetlaw Jobs doesn't use any cookies, and if the website is ever updated in future to use cookies, Retox Digital have put processes in place to devise a 'pop up' that a user will have to view before looking at a site.
GIS
This is the In My Area website, it is managed by Datamap and is used to display spatial data for the Council.
The GIS website only uses one cookie called DM4_SESSIONID. This is used for session management, is not intrusive and is not intended to be persisted on the users device.
Licensing Register
This is the Licensing department's website, it is managed by LalPac and is used to provide up to date information and services in relation to the Council's Licensing function.
The Licensing website only uses one cookie, named JSESSIONID for storing the session ID. This is used only for working out which session on the server is yours, all other information is stored on the server.
Planning Online
Planning Online is what The Council uses to allow you to search and view detailed information of applications submitted to the Authority since January 2001. This facility is provided by IDOX (formally Plantech) and doesn't use any cookies different to the main Council website.
How do I control and delete cookies?
The Council does not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information about you. However, if you wish to restrict or block the cookies which are set by us, or indeed any other website, you can do this through your browser settings. The Help function within your browser should tell you how.
Alternatively, you may wish to visit all about cookies which contains comprehensive information on how to do this on a wide variety of browsers. You will also find details on how to delete cookies from your machine as well as more general information about cookies.
Please be aware that restricting cookies may impact on the functionality of the Council website and any others you visit.
If you wish to view your cookie code, just click on a cookie to open it. You'll see a short string of text and numbers. The numbers are your identification card, which can only be seen by the server that gave you the cookie.
