Licensing Information

The open data is licensed 'as is' and the Council excludes all representations, warranties, obligations and liabilities in relation to the information to the maximum extent permitted by law.

The Council is not liable for any errors or omissions in the data and shall not be liable for any loss, injury or damage of any kind caused by its use. The Council does not guarantee the continued supply of the Information.

The datasets made available on this website are covered by the following licensing terms and conditions and these are outlined below.

UK Open Government License

The UK Government Licensing Framework (UKGLF) provides a policy and legal overview of the arrangements for licensing the use and re-use of public sector information, both in central government and the wider public sector. It sets out best practice, standardises the licensing principles for government information, and recommends the Open Government Licence (OGL) as the default licence for public sector information. The OGL is an implied licence. By using information made available under the licence you indicate that you have accepted its terms and conditions. There is no need to register or formally apply for a licence.

You must use the following attribution statement to acknowledge the source of the information:

   "Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0."

Ordnance Survey Open Government Licence

Certain data on this site is regarded as geographic data. This means that the data can be downloaded or is suitable for direct use in a Geographical Information System (GIS).

This geographic data is released under the same terms as are used in the Ordnance Survey Open Government Licence. This licence is the same as the Open Government Licence, with the following additions:

You must use the following attribution statement to acknowledge the source of the information:

   "Contains Ordnance Survey data © Crown copyright and database right [year]."

The same attribution statements must be contained in any sub-licences of the Information that you grant, together with a requirement that any further sub-licences do the same. OS OpenData™ is covered by either Crown Copyright, Crown Database Right, or has been licensed to the Crown.

Interactive Maps - Ordnance Survey Licence

Certain datasets on this site will show an Interactive Map, this interactive map contains Ordnance Survey mapping data which has a copyright. Please note that the Ordnance Survey mapping data contained within the Interactive Maps are not part of the Open Government Licence, or the Ordnance Survey Open Government Licence and therefore cannot be copied, downloaded or used for any purpose. Any copying of these maps is an infringement of the Crown Copyright. We have tried to supply with each of these datasets, wherever possible, a PDF document which you are allowed to download and use under the Ordnance Survey Open Government Licence and these can be found in the Downloads area of the datasets page.
