The Village Everton, which encompasses the hamlets of Harwell and Drakeholes, is an ancient North Nottinghamshire village, which straddles the busy A631, once part of the main Roman route from Lincoln to York. The remains of a Roman fort are to be found just beyond the western edge of the parish.
