The Council monitors performance at service level and corporate level. The Council’s Cabinet and Overview and Scrutiny Committee receive quarterly performance reports to allow close monitoring and scrutiny of the Council’s performance.
Our current Performance Management Framework sets out our approach to how we will monitor performance and service delivery at Bassetlaw. This involves taking positive action to improve our services for the benefit of the community. We use a number of Performance Indicators to provide a snapshot of our performance in the most important areas, and take proactive action where necessary.
The Framework also gives Elected Members and Officers guidance on data collection, reporting and systems. One of the most important aspects of the Framework is maintaining the “golden thread”; ensuring everyone can play a part in delivering the Council’s mission and vision. Our Performance Management Framework is available via the link below.

Bassetlaw used to be tied to a national performance management framework. However, since 2010 Councils have been free to determine the measures of success that reflect their own local circumstances and priorities. Bassetlaw has retained a number of the performance indicators from the old national indicator set with the addition of locally defined performance indicators.
The Council uses the Pentana Performance Management System to manage Performance Indicators, Corporate Plan Actions, Service Actions, Audit Actions and creates dynamic reports for use by Members and Senior Managers.
